Find me on:

This will be our 3rd time back at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay for the Tech Summit and we couldn’t be more excited if we tried. This venue offers so many things to do, so after your morning of presentations, the opportunities are endless!

“Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina offers countless onsite activities and special events throughout the year. You’ll find favorites, like our activity pool with waterslide, foosball, lighted tennis courts, miniature golf, air hockey, and new games such as Frisbee golf. However, one of the main attractions at the resort in the River Marsh Golf Club, named on Golfweek's list of "Best Places you Can Play" in Maryland.” You can read more about the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay and its offerings here

During online registration, registrants will have a choice of afternoon activity (from 2:00-7:30pm):

  1. IPDS Golf Classic (Best Ball Scramble):
Last year we had 13 foursomes go out on River Marsh golf course, but this year we’re stepping it up. We’re looking at a full course this year, with a shotgun start promptly at 2:00pm. Be sure to look for Michelle (probably lost on the cart path) coming around to take photos of each group.
  1. Mini-Golf Tournament:
Led by our very own Brian O’Mailey, this mini-golf tournament is no joke. In this tournament (almost) anything goes. This will be kicked off by an official reading of the rules, keeping in mind the original handwritten constitution from 2015.  We started from the bottom.

  1. Frisbee Golf:
NEW ADDITION THIS YEAR! Since the IPDS Golf Classic takes a bit longer than one round of 9-hole mini-golf, we decided to add another activity to keep you occupied. Not sure how to play? The Disc Golf Association lays it out for you. Yes, an association for disc golf.
  1. Other, On Your Own:
Not into any of these activities? No problem. We’re not offended. Who ever said that laying out by the pool is a bad option?

Once afternoon activities are complete, we will reconvene for dinner at 7:30pm, which has an agenda of its own – but that’s a post for another time!

Are you participating in the IPDS Virtual Treasure Hunt? No riddle today, but we’re so glad you’re playing. Never heard of it? Long story short, follow our weekly riddles for a chance to win a prize valued at $500! Get the low down (and your first riddle) here.

The IPDS Tech Summit is FREE to qualified registrants.

We will be having a silent auction at the IPDS Tech Summit in memory of Allen Thomas, a former IPDS employee who lost his battle with esophageal cancer on April 22nd, 2016.
